Content Management Systems Make You Money

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Content Management Systems are an extremely effective tool for providing a user friendly, cost effective, fast and conveniently accessible feature to websites. The traditional method of building websites had a major constraint; content could not be edited after being posted on a website. In order to update the website, it was either required to buy some special expensive software, launch a new website, or have the designer make the updates. As a website owner, regular updates and modifications are crucial for search engine optimization, and for effective communication between customers and clients. When you hire us at camrondeen.com, you will be provided with a content management system for your site, allowing you to update your own website at your convenience. The ability to make your own updates is extremely cost effective for your business. You will not need special technical training or knowledge and will be able to use any browser for the updates.

Another important benefit of using a content management system is that content of a website can be stored in text form. Any text typed on a search engine can quickly relate to the websites’ content, leading to increased traffic to the website. The software will also enable better search functions. A greater amount of data can also be stored on the site. The use of CMS gives you flexibility and control as a site owner to manage your own website at your own convenience. Content Management Software is a revolutionary breakthrough and this user friendly software will allow for a truly dynamic website that always stays up-to-date.

iPhoney, not an iPhone simulator

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I’ve just recently been working on a project that required the purchase of some .mobi domains.  It just so happens that one of my favorite apps and most used Daylight by Marketcircle, makes iPhoney.  iPhoney is an open source project for web designers who want to build and test web sites for the iPhone.  We all know that everyone in the world has an iPhone.  Here are some of iPhoneys features for you mac savvy web designers.

  • View source to see the source code for the page you’re viewing, great for checking iPhone targeted pages.
  • Localized for Norwegian (Thanks to Fredrik W.), French, and German users.
  • Test your iPhone-enabled Web 2.0 applications and compatible web sites.
  • Open any website that works with Safari (use Safari 3 beta for the most accurate experience).
  • Rotate to see websites in either portrait or landscape orientation.
  • Show or hide the location bar for a full-screen iPhone experience.
  • Simulate the iPhone user agent, to test browser redirection scripts.
  • Zoom out to see how your current pages might look while zoomed out on iPhone.
  • Turn off plug-ins (including Flash, but note that they all turn off (including QuickTime).
  • Automatic updates with Sparkle, so you’ll always know if there’s a new version.
  • And of course, open source code so you can contribute to iPhoney’s rapid development.

Adobe AIR the new marketing tool

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

I just wanted to take a minute to talk Adobe AIR.  “Adobe® AIR™ lets developers use their existing web development skills in HTML, AJAX, Flash and Flex to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop.”  Adobe AIR is still new but quickly becoming adopted by many big name companies.

This really gets my creative juices flowing when I think about the possibilities.  Here are two of my favorites that I’m really digging.

Google Analytics Reporting Suite, yes they are currently working directly with Google.

The second one from Ribbit, Silicon Valley’s first phone company.  They came out with an AIR iPhone desktop app using their phone service.

Google Checkout Trends

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Some of you might be using Google Trends, if not it allows you to track and compare what Google users are searching for.  Google has gone one step further for us eCommerce junkies and introduced Google Checkout Trends.  This is very similar in that it gives you insight into what people are buying and selling online.  This data is directly aggregated from Google Checkout merchants.  So if your interested in comparing sales of Fluke Multimeters or Flir Infracam Thermal Imaging Cameras or just wondering how popular an item is, Google Checkout Trends will give you that.

Google Global Firefox Extension

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Google Global is a Firefox extension that allows you to see what the
Google search results that you are viewing look like from different geographical locations.
This is very useful if you want to compare organic search results in different countries or
if you want to see how your AdWords PPC campaigns appear in different regions.
